Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Macadamia Nuts
by Amy Love, Real Food Whole Health

Ingredients:
1 stalk Brussels sprouts, or about a pound of sprouts off the stalk,  organic is best
Grassfed butter, coconut oil or ghee
Unrefined sea salt, fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup raw macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Cut stems off the sprouts and remove the outer leaves.
Cut each sprout in half, make a pile of all the halves, and run your knife through several times to shred into smaller pieces.
In a large saute pan (we don’t recommend non-stick), melt butter or other fat.
Add sprouts and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Allow sprouts to brown, stirring occasionally or shaking pan.
Allow them to caramelize almost to your liking, and then add the chopped macadamias.
Stir to coat nuts with butter, adding more if needed. Let nuts warm through- they will get fragrant.
Adjust salt if needed and serve.
